Short answer
It depends on how you sell.
Yacht charter fleets that live on agency bookings need a charter network: Booking Manager, NauSYS or Sedna Genesis (€30 per boat a month). Day-boat, RIB and small bareboat fleets that sell direct are better served by rental software: Renviq (free for 2 boats, €49 a month for 15), Booqable or RentSyst (€55 a month up to 15 units).
On this page
The shortlist below compares nine tools that sell themselves to boat rental and yacht charter businesses: three charter distribution systems, one charter back office with a public price list, and five rental tools with a boat page. Every fact comes from the vendor's own public pages, checked on 15 September 2026, and each product gets its limits as well as its strengths, Renviq included.
Which boat rental software should you choose?
The first question is not features but where your bookings come from. The market splits in two:
- Yacht charter systems (Booking Manager, NauSYS, Sedna Genesis, YachtSys) are built around the week-long bareboat or crewed charter sold through agencies. Their core is a network: your yachts appear in front of thousands of charter brokers, with crew lists, owners and base operations around it.
- Boat rental software (Renviq, Booqable, Rent Centric, HQ Rental Software, RentSyst) is built around direct bookings by the hour, half day or day: a booking page, a deposit, a signed agreement and a check on the pontoon at pickup and return. None of them connects you to a charter agency network.
In short:
- Booking Manager suits yacht charter fleets that want the largest agency network the vendor publishes (1,300+ fleets, 5,000+ agencies). Prices are not published.
- NauSYS suits charter fleets that want agency distribution with no booking fees, as the vendor states. Prices are not published.
- Sedna Genesis suits charter fleets that want a published per-boat price (€30 per boat a month) with e-signature, crew lists, check-in and owner zones.
- YachtSys suits small charter fleets that want a published monthly price list, from €35 a month under 12 yachts.
- Renviq suits RIB, day-boat, jet ski and small bareboat fleets, or mixed fleets with cars and motorbikes, that sell direct and want every feature on every plan, including card deposit holds through your own Stripe account. It has no native app and no agency network.
- Booqable suits general rental businesses (kayaks, pontoons, motorboats) that want card deposit holds and a mobile point of sale.
- Rent Centric suits operators who want a staff app for dock-side inspections and are happy to get a quote.
- HQ Rental Software suits car rental businesses that add boats, and can budget USD pricing plus a one-time onboarding fee.
- RentSyst suits mixed fleets that want a flat €55 a month up to 15 units and many payment integrations.
Which tool fits your situation?
- Day boats, RIBs or jet skis sold by the hour or day. You need hourly and daily rates, a turnaround gap between rentals and a quick handover. Renviq (hourly and daily billing, a per-boat buffer between bookings), Booqable (hourly, daily and weekly rates, downtime scheduling) and Rent Centric (real-time online reservations, QR-code inspection checklists) are built for this.
- Bareboat charter by the week, mostly through agencies. Booking Manager, NauSYS and Sedna publish agency networks; YachtSys lets agencies and fleets work on one platform. A rental tool will not bring you broker bookings.
- You manage yachts for private owners. Sedna (owner zone and statements), NauSYS (owner portal) and YachtSys (owner balance and owner login on its Advanced fleet package) publish owner features. Renviq does not.
- You need a card deposit hold built in. Booqable says you can authorize and hold the deposit on the customer's card. RentSyst lists card authorization. Renviq holds the deposit on the customer's saved card through your own Stripe account and renews the hold automatically. The charter systems do not publish card holds.
- You need a native app on the pontoon. Rent Centric (Mobile Agent Pro, including 360-degree damage inspections), HQ Rental Software (mobile app with boat inspection) and Booqable (mobile point of sale add-on for iOS and Android) publish one. Renviq runs in the phone's browser.
- You mostly sell seats on trips rather than whole boats. A tour booking tool may fit better. Roverd, for example, charges no subscription and takes 5% per successful online booking.
How did we compare them?
We read each vendor's public website and pricing page on 15 September 2026 and noted only what those pages state. For small fleets, these criteria change the working day most:
- Built for: what the vendor says it serves (charter fleets, boat rental, general rental).
- Entry price as published: the lowest paid or free plan, in the vendor's currency and billing period.
- Online booking: a booking page or widget for your own website.
- E-signature: whether the customer signs the charter or rental agreement digitally.
- Check-in and inspection: whether pickup and return checks with photos or checklists are part of the product.
- Card deposit hold: whether the vendor says it can hold (pre-authorize) a deposit on the customer's card.
- Agency network: whether the vendor distributes your boats to charter brokers.
The ground rules:
- "Not published" does not mean "missing". It means we did not find it on the vendor's public pages. Charter systems in particular show much of their product only in demos. Ask.
- Prices are quoted as published, without conversion. Booqable showed us euro prices; its site may show another currency in your country.
- Renviq is our product. Its facts come from our own pricing page, llms.txt and the product itself, under the same "published or not" rule, and its section lists its limits.
- No ratings, reviews or customer quotes. Several vendor pages carry testimonials; we used none of them.
How do the nine tools compare feature by feature?

Read "Listed" as: the feature is on the vendor's pricing page, but we could not tell which tiers include it.
What do they cost?
- Renviq: Free €0 (2 vehicles, 1 user, 10 bookings a month); Starter €49 (15 vehicles, 3 users); Pro €99 (50 vehicles, 10 users); Max €199 (unlimited vehicles, 100 users), EUR per month. A boat counts as a vehicle. Only capacity changes between plans; 14-day trial on Pro and Max. See pricing.
- Booking Manager: not published. The site offers a demo and a quote; its back office, Local Booking Manager, comes in two packages, with invoicing, payment tracking, statistics and maintenance pointed to the Advanced one.
- NauSYS: not published. The vendor says it charges no fees on bookings and offers a Distribution package or a Premium Partnership with the full back office.
- Sedna Genesis: Diffusion is free: your boats are listed on the Sedna network and Sedna takes a 5% commission only on direct clients it brings you. Genesis Full is €30 per boat a month, plus your own OpenAI API budget for its AI agents. No setup fees, no lock-in, as the vendor states.
- YachtSys: the Charter Fleet Manager packages cost €70 (Basic) and €190 (Advanced) a month above 12 yachts, and €35 and €95 a month for fleets under 12 yachts. A 50% discount applies for the first 6 months on the listed packages. Your own charter website costs €80 a month extra.
- Booqable: Start €35, Grow €87, Scale €187 a month on monthly billing (€29, €69, €149 billed yearly). Mobile point of sale is €9 per user a month; the website builder €19 a month; extra locations from €29 a month on Scale.
- Rent Centric: not published. The pricing page asks for your company, fleet, users and locations first.
- HQ Rental Software: Basic $120 (10 vehicles), Standard $175 (25), Professional $250 (50) a month on monthly billing, plus a one-time onboarding fee of $550, $950 or $1,500. One branch per plan; $50 a month per extra branch.
- RentSyst: €55 a month flat for 0–15 vehicles, then €3.0, €2.7, €2.5 and €2.0 per vehicle a month as the fleet grows; prices exclude VAT. Training (€50), onboarding (€150), setup (€100) and payment-gateway integration (€300, annual subscribers only) are optional extras.
Renviq
Renviq is rental management software for boat, car and motorbike rental businesses, operated from Spain.
Strengths
- Boat records, not car records with a new label. Boat categories include motorboat, sailboat, yacht, catamaran, RIB, jet ski, gulet and houseboat, with registration number, HIN, passenger capacity, length, beam, draft, engines, cabins and berths.
- Charter pricing. Hourly and daily billing units, a per-boat turnaround buffer so a morning slot and an afternoon slot do not collide, seasonal rates by date range and weekday, and extras such as a skipper per day, snorkel sets or paddle boards as invoice lines.
- Handover on the pontoon. Pickup and return inspections with photos, damage flags, fuel level and a meter reading, and a dual-signer charter agreement signed on the phone, with a PDF filed on the booking.
- Card deposit holds on every plan. With your own Stripe account connected, the deposit is held on the customer's saved card, renewed every 7 days while the booking is open, and part of it captured at return if the inspection documents damage.
- Direct bookings. A branded booking page in 9 languages, and a customer link where the renter uploads a licence and ID before arrival.
- Every feature on every plan, from Free (2 boats) to Max (unlimited).
Limits
- No charter agency network. Renviq does not distribute your boats to brokers and has no connection to Booking Manager, NauSYS or Sedna. If agencies sell most of your weeks, you need one of those.
- No berth, marina or crew management. No slip or mooring billing, no crew list export, no owner portal or owner statements for managed yachts.
- No boating-licence document type. Renters upload a passport, ID card, driving licence or international driving permit; a nautical licence is not a separate document type.
- No native mobile app. The web app works in a phone browser on the pontoon, but there is nothing to install.
- Card payments need your own Stripe account, and there is no terminal integration. A deposit taken on your own card terminal or in cash is recorded by hand.
- Young product, no public reviews yet.
Booking Manager
Booking Manager is made by MMK Systems in Zagreb, Croatia, and describes itself as a global distribution system connecting yacht charter fleets with agencies, plus a back office.

- Direct bookings on your website: a search engine widget showing real-time availability, connected to online payment methods including PayPal, plus an API and custom websites.

Limits
- Prices not published. You apply or ask for a quote.
- E-signature, check-in and card deposit holds not published on the pages we read.
- Built for weekly yacht charter. Hourly day-boat rental is not what its pages describe.
NauSYS
NauSYS is a yacht charter booking system for fleet operators, charter agencies and yacht owners.
Strengths
- Agency network: the vendor states 9,000 yachts from 900 fleets, 5,000 charter agencies and listing on over 250 websites.
- No booking fees, as the vendor states, and a free portal for agencies.
- Back office in the Premium Partnership, described as a complete solution for invoicing and contract creation, in a web browser.
- Owner portal with availability and, depending on the agreement, crew lists and yacht balance; integrations with Croatian accounting tools Ritam, E-računi and Pantheon.
Limits
- Prices not published.
- E-signature, check-in and card deposit holds not published on the pages we read.
- Built for yacht charter distribution, not hourly boat rental.
Sedna Genesis
Sedna has served charter fleets since 2004; Genesis is its rebuilt, AI-based version, with the same data.
Strengths
- Published per-boat price: €30 per boat a month for the full platform, or a free listing on the Sedna network.
- From enquiry to signed contract: options, extras, payment schedule, invoice, contract, crew list and e-signature from one booking record.
- Base operations: check-in and check-out, digital logbooks, maintenance, stock and technician planning.
- Owners, brokers and clients each get their own zone, including owner statements; a fleet website fed by live data is included.
- Cabin charter planning and automated Greek Charter Party filings.
Limits
- Your own OpenAI API budget comes on top of the €30 per boat for the AI agents.
- Card deposit holds not published. Card payments are mentioned for clients paying online.
- Built for charter fleets, weekly and cabin charter, not hourly rental.
YachtSys
YachtSys publishes a price list for charter agencies and charter fleet managers on one platform.
Strengths
- Published monthly prices, including a small-fleet rate: €35 (Basic) or €95 (Advanced) a month under 12 yachts.
- Charter catalogues: seasons, prices, extras, discounts and packages, a booking table and a price optimisation tool on both fleet packages.
- Advanced fleet package: check-in lists, an order form for offers, options and bookings, accounting with contracts, invoices and payment reminders, owner balance and owner login, client login, document upload for skipper licences and passports, and an online crew list with PDF export.
Limits
- Many essentials are Advanced only, including check-in lists, contracts and invoices, and the crew list.
- Your own website costs €80 a month extra.
- E-signature and card deposit holds not published.
Booqable
Booqable is general rental software with a boat rental page covering kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, pontoons, motorboats and sailboats.
Strengths
- Card deposits: deposits as a fixed amount or a percentage of the rental, and the option to authorize and hold the amount on the customer's card, then release it or capture it if there is damage.
- Rates: hourly, daily and weekly pricing, seasonal rules and downtime scheduling for maintenance.
- At the dock: contracts and safety waivers signed from a phone, and Tap to Pay to take contactless payments on your phone.
- Booking page on every plan, no commission on bookings.
Limits
- E-signatures start on Grow (€87 a month, €69 billed yearly).
- The mobile app is a paid add-on (€9 per user a month).
- No photo inspections published for pickup and return.
- Not boat-specific: no skipper, crew list or charter features are described.
Rent Centric
Rent Centric has a boat rental product alongside car, motorcycle, RV and other rental products.
Strengths
- Mobile Agent Pro app: start rentals at the dock, perform 360-degree damage inspections and take payments.
- Boat inspections with integrated QR codes and custom checklists.
- Client remote registration: renters register and verify their details, including driver's licences and insurance, through an online portal.
- Digital signatures and branded real-time online reservations.
Limits
- Prices not published.
- Card deposit holds not published.
- No charter features described (crew lists, agencies, owners).
HQ Rental Software
HQ Rental Software prices its plans by vehicles and branches, and has a dedicated page for motorbike and boat rental.
Strengths
- Boat page features: online booking, managing captains, extra recreational packages and boat inspection in the mobile app.
- On every plan: online reservations, rental agreements, digital signature and the mobile app.
Limits
- Priced in USD, with a one-time onboarding fee from $550.
- Built for cars first. Its channel management syncs with Expedia, Kayak and Turo, which are car channels, not charter agencies.
- Card deposit holds not published.
RentSyst
RentSyst has a boat rental page and covers cars, small vehicles, RVs, trucks and machinery.
Strengths
- Flat small-fleet price: €55 a month for up to 15 vehicles, excluding VAT, with unlimited branches and managers.
- Long feature list on the pricing page, including booking engine, digital agreement editor, digital signature, check-in and check-out, damage management and card authorization.
Limits
- Tier coverage not clear from the page. Ask which tier includes card authorization and e-signature.
- Setup help is paid, and the payment-gateway integration package is for annual subscribers only.
- Car-first wording. The boat page mentions GPS for "fleet and driver control"; no skipper or charter features are described.
What should you check before choosing?
- Where your bookings come from. If agencies sell your weeks, the network matters more than any feature. If customers book you directly for a day on the water, the booking page, deposit and handover matter more.
- Hourly and half-day slots. Check that two rentals on the same boat on the same day work, with a gap for cleaning and refuelling in between.
- The deposit. Does the software place the hold on the card itself, with which payment provider, and what happens after 7 days, when most online card holds expire? See our guide to card deposit pre-authorization.
- Licences and crew. Where does the skipper's licence or the renter's boating licence go, and do you need a crew list for the authorities where you operate?
- The pontoon check. Photos by side of the hull, fuel and engine hours, damage flags, and the renter's signature on the same record. That record decides a damage dispute later.
- Seasonality. Price by date range and weekday, and a plan you can downgrade in winter. See seasonal pricing for rentals.
- One-off fees. Onboarding, setup and website fees can exceed the first months of subscription.
- Data export. Ask how you get bookings, customers, invoices and signed agreements out if you leave.
For cars and motorbikes as well as boats, see the general rental software comparison.
