Card payments that follow the booking

Connect your own Stripe account and take the money from the booking itself. The renter saves a card once, the deposit is held on it and renewed every 7 days, the prepayment is captured when you confirm, and fuel or damage found at the return is charged without the renter at the counter.

How it works

From the saved card to the last charge

01

The deposit is held, not taken

Hold on card blocks the deposit on the saved card and charges nothing. Renviq renews the hold before each 7-day window runs out for as long as the booking is open, and at the return you capture what the inspection justifies — the rest is released at once.

02

Charges after the return, with consent on record

The renter saves a card once on a Stripe page and confirms it with their bank; the consent names the rental, the deposit and post-return charges. Fuel, a late return or damage is charged from the booking, and if the bank declines, you send a payment link instead.

A prepayment held until you confirm

Your booking page can ask for a card to secure the request, or for a share of the total up front. The prepayment is only held while you decide: captured when you confirm, released when you decline.

Questions

Online payments FAQ

Where does the money go?

Into your own Stripe account. You connect it in Settings → Payments; Stripe pays out to your bank and charges its own processing fees. Renviq adds no fee on card payments.

How long can a deposit stay on hold?

A card hold made online lasts 7 days. Renviq renews it before it lapses for as long as the booking is open, so a two-week rental stays covered. Each renewal is a new authorisation the bank can decline; if it does, the deposit goes back to pending and your team gets an email.

Can I charge the card after the renter has left?

Yes, for the charges your rental agreement sets out. The renter consents when saving the card, and your staff charge it from the booking with a type and an amount. Renviq never charges on its own, and a declined card falls back to a payment link.

Does it work with my card terminal?

No. Renviq does not connect to card terminals. Payments taken on your own terminal, in cash or by bank transfer are recorded on the booking by hand, next to the card payments.

Which plans include it?

Every plan, including Free. You need a Stripe account in a country where Stripe accepts businesses.
